The story here are the Bulls, not the genius of the Warriors. How a storied franchise in a major market could even consider auctioning off a pick and a high caliber player, at no benefit to the team, is absurd. Frankly, I think the league should ban cash considerations entirely, especially if its the ONLY part of the transaction. If it was on top of another asset, so be it, but to allow a team to nonsensically sell a pick at no benefit to the team, undermines the idea of competitive balance and screws the fans. And to think, they did this AFTER trading Butler for 10 cents on the dollar.
