I like Twitter. And yes, it has a problem when it comes to topics such as online harassment. There is one other problem that Twitter has which kills the experience of the platform: spam. Try searching for something and chances are that there will be a lot of spammy and ad tweets.

I think Twitter can perhaps also address both of these problems by taking steps in making the platform have more people whose identities are known. While let Twitter allow people to have usernames without identities, but verify a lot more people (as it has begun to do, I feel).

Once a critical mass of people have identities which are verified, I think a user can curate their experience to receive tweets which either only come from verified users or users who they follow. Whether in search results or those that mention them.
