What Children’s Literature Teaches Us About Money: ‘The Witch of Blackbird Pond’
Nicole Dieker

We were such different kids! I actually loved the fact that there were no real witches. I felt that it made it a much more ‘grown-up’ book. I also remember the scene with her fancy clothes so well. I just loved how throughout the entire book, Kit is portrayed in opposition to everyone else around her, down to the vivid color of her eyes. I haven’t read it since I was about 11 so I don’t remember much of the details, just that I really admired Kit and felt the ending really suited her. But who knows how I’d feel if I read it again nearly 2 decades later…
