Meet the Co-Leaders: Olivia Ong ’20

I honestly had know clue that Global Giving existed until halfway through my freshman year when a friend encouraged me to join. Not knowing what to expect, I went to a few meetings, and overtime, I found that I really resonated with the goals of the club. As an academically driven student, my life is constantly busy and often stressful, so I find that the fun and inspiring environment of Global Giving Club always relieves some of that stress.
One of the things I love most about Global Giving is the community we’ve built. The club is so welcoming that it really just feels like I’m just hanging out with friends. One time, while planning our project on mental health and stress, we ended up spending the whole hour having this really deep conversation about life. That was pretty fun. :)
I’m so glad that I stayed in Global Giving because it has offered me a platform to express my ideas through collaborative projects. My goal for this year is to bring awareness to our club, because I think a lot of people at the high school will find a place in Global Giving Club for their passions.
