Gearing up for a phone or Skype interview? Here’s how to make sure it’s a truly epic #fail.

  1. Don’t do any research on the company.

2. Remember that it’s not necessary to read the entire job description.

3. Don’t worry about being a few minutes late.

4. Play hard-to-get. Don’t prepare or ask any questions that might make you seem too interested in the position.

5. If you’ve got something brilliant to say, it’s fine to interrupt the interviewer.

6. Forget about cleaning up your social media accounts. They probably won’t check anyway. #wasteoftime #yolo

7. Make it personal. And awkward.

8. Talk about how you “started from the bottom, now I’m here…”

9. Just talk to them like you’re talking to any of your friends. You don’t need to be professional if it’s just a phone interview!

10. Jobs are about rule-following. They don’t need to hear about that time you creatively solved that problem.
