The jailbreak iOS 13.4, 13.4.1 community is getting more and more popular as more and more people seek to get a little more functionality and customization out of their iOS 13.4.1 devices. This has no-doubt, been facilitated by the ease of jailbreaking. Tools like Checkra1n 0.10.1 have become rather popular among geeks and noobs alike. Apple released iOS 13.4.1 to the general public yesterday, and as you might come to expect, this has a few implications for the jailbreak community. Obviously, the unc0ver jailbreak doesn’t support the new firmware, as it can only jailbreak iOS 13.0–13.3. Checkra1n users, on the other hand, should be in the clear following a new update to the jailbreak tool on Wednesday.

The iOS 13.4.1 jailbreak process will begin automatically. This could take some time, depending on your device, but it’s usually fairly quick; just remain patient and do not unplug it. That’s it! The jailbreak is done! Open the Checkra1n jailbreak app on your device and install Cydia. Launch Cydia and enjoy your jailbroken device on iOS 13 — iOS 13.4.1.

In the previous release of Checkra1n, experimental version 0.9.9, we saw the tool get support for the latest iOS version 13.4. This was an experimental build and, while users reported that it worked, the developer warned against underlying issues.

iPhone XS and iPhone 11 not supported (A12 — A13)

It’s tethered! This means to use your jailbreak “stuff”, you need to reboot with the assistance of checkra1n and a computer

On that subject, you need a computer, you cannot jailbreak without one

macOS ONLY, no Windows

Checkra1n is powered by the checkm8 exploit. An all-powerful bootrom exploit for A11 devices and older. For iOS 13, this includes the iPhone 6S to the iPhone X. Released by security researcher axi0mX, Checkm8 is a low-level bootrom exploit that empowers it to be permanent jailbreak on the iPhone X (A11) and lower.

Checkra1nV_0.10.1 Jailbreak for A5-A13

Well, now we have a new build of Checkra1n, Checkra1n beta 0.10.1. This Beta build now includes support for iOS 13.4 and 13.4.1. That is not all. This build also packs a number of bug fixes. Below is the changelog for this new release.

Checkra1n co-developer Jamie Bishop took to Twitter this evening to share that checkra1n v0.10.1 had been released. This new update incorporates support for iOS/iPadOS 13.4 & 13.4.1, enabling handsets susceptible to the checkm8 bootrom exploit (A7-A11) to be jailbroken even on Apple’s latest and greatest software updates:

WHAT’S NEW:
Bug fixes
● Fixes support for A7 devices
● Fixes an issue in 12.4 which caused the device to panic and reboot on attempted shutdown
● Fixes an issue that caused the keychain to lose new passwords
● Fixes an issue which caused the GUI/ncurses to crash when used more than once
● Fixes an issue where a userspace reboot won’t restart dropbear

Other changes
● Added 13.4 and 13.4.1 support
● Introducing kernel patch finder v2 — rewritten from the ground up for sanic speed
● You can now quit from the webra1n interface

If you’re using an earlier version of the checkra1n jailbreak, then we would recommend downloading and deploying checkra1n v0.10.1 whether you’re running iOS 13.4/13.4.1 or not.

Unsupported devices

checkra1n supports all devices between the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 11, however we are having dependency issues with certain iPad models

iPad Air 2

iPad 5th Gen

iPad Pro 1st Gen

Support for these devices will be added in a later release.

Support for the following devices is experimental, and may require more attempts than usual:

iPhone 5s

iPad Mini 2

iPad Mini 3

iPad Air

Reliability on these devices will be improved in future releases.

Unsupported platforms

This beta is available for macOS and Windows. Work is ongoing to support Linux, which will be added in a later release.

Package managers

At the moment, checkra1n only supports installing Cydia. Support for other package managers is coming soon, and will not require a checkra1n update.

This is because the latest update to the tool brings the latest bug fixes and performance improvements along with support for a new firmware version. As always, the latest version of checkra1n can be downloaded for free.
