A solution shouldn’t be discouraged because it works for some but not all, if there isn’t a better and more universal one :) This works for us, and could work for many. Indeed you are correct that a post-partum Mom who was, say a truck driver, couldn’t make this solution work. I encourage employers and employees of all varieties to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions that work well for their situations.

As for feelings of infant security, there’s lots of academic research on this topic, which folks all need to do for themselves. My goal is to provide parents with additional options, and then they can opt in or out according to their personal parental philosophies.
