This week, 15 exciting firms have raised funds quickly into the new year. The point of these post is to provide you with targets for your outreach when finding internships. With new funds, you normally see an increase in headcount and hopefully, an increased budget for internships ;) Provide by VentureMatch.

Ways to stand out: Look at the SEC Form D filings to find numbers that have been used for the filings, and start dialing that phone!

#1 Altitude Life Sciences Ventures

Amount Raised: 50,000,000

History Of Interns: None on Linkedin

Total AUM: NA

Thoughts: For people that are interested in Life Sciences and have a background that is relevant for this type of investing, I would take a stab at it. Seems to be a small firm, but the only downside is that the firm is located in Washington.

History Of Interns: Yes on Linkedin

Total AUM: 625,000,000

Thoughts: Flybridge has a great reputation, I would rank this as a solid opportunity. This small raise could be an oversubscription to their Sep 2018 fund, but still a great indicator.

#6 Nordic Web Ventures

Amount Raised: 1,280,000

History Of Interns: None on Linkedin

Total AUM: NA

Thoughts: If you’re located abroad, take a shot at this firm. A small fund with a small staff, but European investing has been on the uptick and poses as an interesting firm.

#7 Hack VC

Amount Raised: 242,000

History Of Interns: None on Linkedin

Total AUM: NA

Thoughts: I believe this specific raise for an AngelList SPV fund, but Hack VC had great deal flow and would a solid opp for a first-time intern. Could be difficult because it’s a small firm.

#8 Kindred Ventures

Amount Raised: 50,000,000

History Of Interns: None on Linkedin

Thoughts: Owl has a good history for hiring interns/summer associates. I would put this high on your list and start the outreach process. Especially, after raising a fund that's about half of their overall AUM. This seems like the type of opportunity that could turn into an analyst position.

Website

Thoughts: This is Firebolts third fund, which is a great sign for anyone who wants to start a career or gets exposure to venture. A small team with a quant-based approach on investing. This is great for STEM-based undergrads.
