NewsRoom Selection

When chosing a desired newsroom to cover, my main focus was to find a local station that reports original facts and is considered to be neutral. I’m looking to investigate what types of stories do they consider breaking, who their target audience/where their followers are from. I chose an ABC affiliate out of Portland Oregon by the name of KATU. I chose Oregon because I am fond of the west coast and more importantly the scenery and beuty of Oregon. I investigated the stations social media accunts and was pleased to see plenty of activity. Although all of their twitter posts have links to full stories it seems as though the tweets could be automated much like their facebook postings. I landed on this selection because it is considered neutral reporting of original facts.
