I personally witness lots of accidents involving human drivers on freeways during optimal highway conditions. A Tesla using Autopilot is unlikely to get into a front-end collision with a car ahead of it because of radar-triggered warnings and auto-braking. The same goes for side collisions. The car takes evasive action. Also, a car using Autopilot is less likely to get into a dangerous situation because the driver temporarily was distracted. This article is just another attempted short-seller take-down. I’m a Model S driver and I can attest to several occasions when Autopilot helped me avoid a problem.
