Did upgrading to macOS Sierra break your localhost / personal webserver ?

macOS Sierra replaces the apache config files with new default config files. If you would like to revert to the old settings, follow these instructions.

Step 1. Open Terminal

Step 2. cd into apache directory
cd /private/etc/apache2/

Step 3. Move current httpd config file and restore the previous config file
sudo mv httpd-vhosts.conf httpd-vhosts.conf~sierra
sudo mv httpd.conf~previous httpd.conf

If you use a seperate config file for your virtual hosts, goto step 4, otherwise you can go to step 5

Step 4. Move current vhosts config file and restore the previous vhosts file
sudo mv httpd-vhosts.conf httpd-vhosts.conf~sierra
sudo mv httpd-vhosts.conf~previous httpd-vhosts.conf

Step 5. Restart Apache
sudo apachectl restart

You should be good to go!
