This article needs a different title. It should not be “How to Dress Like a Man”, its how to dress like a rich man. About the only only point I agree with is trying to keep your socks all one color… but then again, if you have multiple suits (unless they are the same color) and several dress shoes in different colors, that is not reasonable.
But lets be honest.. by as many bespoke suits as you can reasonably afford? At a $2000 entry point, the number most men can reasonably afford is none. And many “business casual” environments still do not accept jeans of any type except perhaps casual Fridays. Likewise, some of us wear wool sweaters because we can’t drop $1000 on a single sweater.
Lace-ups are fine, some of us actually like them far better than loafers. As are brogues (i.e, wingtips). Understated is always good, but you are allowed a bit of flair.
And never pick on the guy who has realized that when he wears them, bow ties are cool. Dressing should be about more than making yourself one of your class, it should also be about saying who you are.
