CS 373 Spring 2022: William Gunawan(Week of 24 Jan. — 30 Jan.)
What did you do this past week? This past week, I had covid for the first half so I had to quarantine and stayed in my room the entire time. I started adding stuff to my calendar and just general things that I do at the start of the semester.
What’s in your way? The thing that is in my way is my laziness and my allergies. I wake up everyday to a stuffy nose and itchy eyes and it really just takes all my energy to deal with all of these symptoms.
What will you do next week? Next week I’m going to get started on all of my projects that have been assigned to me and hopefully get back on the internship searching grind again.
What did you think of Paper #1: Syllabus? The syllabus is pretty much the same as the Object Oriented Programming class that I took last semester with some minor tweaks. I think these tweaks are really nice and make the new grading scheme a little less harsh. I would also like to add that the tools posted on ed discussion will make calculating your grade so much easier and a lot less stressful.
What was your experience of assertions and Collatz? (this question will vary, week to week) The lecture was pretty much the same as the one from OOP just that we are coding in python instead of C++. I’m really enjoying learning about python as I never really took a class on python so there are certain things that I’m just learning now.
What made you happy this week? Getting a negative test for covid was quite exciting as I can go outside now. I enjoy studying outside of my room so this was super exciting. I also can’t wait for in person classes next week.
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? If you any of you need to use a Latex editor for class, I highly suggest using Overleaf as I personally think it’s one of the best Latex editors out there. Everything can be saved on Overleaf and it’s really easy to use. There are also a lot of guides online that can help you on how to use Latex on Overleaf.
