With more than 300 million users all over the world, Twitter is a good place to develop business, build relationship and brand.

Twitter has added a new platform called TweetDeck, this is a key point to create business account, every business account comes with a TweetDeck. Due to Twitter doesn’t allow sharing password, for some companies would like hire third party agents to work for their Twitter business account, TweetDeck is the only solution. It allows account owners to effectively manage their own team and outside agents, hire them to operate Twitter business, create posts, protect privacy, avoid account suspended.

Tips Creating a Twitter Business Account

1. Always create account by yourself, never ask your employees, third party agents to create it. As of the account being created by yourself, you are granted account administrator automatically, you can fully control the account.

2. If you have asked third party to create account, don’t use password created by them to login Twitter account, account would be locked immediately. You had better to ask them close the account, and re-open another one by yourself.

3. Asking someone else to create account means you have already lost control about the account and also violate Twitter rules, require them to close the account as soon as possible, longer time handled by others, more you lose, such as followers, brand etc.

4. Some people make such mistakes as they think Twitter allows sharing password, no team management function like we discuss it here.

5. It doesn’t like Facebook, Linkedin, you don’t have to have a Twitter personal account to work on business account, but people you would invite must have.

Create A Basic Twitter Business Account

Compared with creating a Facebook business account, Twitter is quite simple and straight forward.

The process of creating business account same as creating personal account, but use a business name and an email address for business purpose only.

At Twitter Sign up page , fill out required information, Name, Phone number or email address. The name is a business name you would like displayed to visitors, and easy to remember, also define your business.

After clicking Sign Up button, you can choose your interests, so that related tweets showed to you later.

Then you login to Dashboard. At this time, we suggest confirm email address as soon as possible.

Twitter also automatically assigns a username when you create account, it either same as your business name or different, but you can change both name and username later.

The username is a part of URL, looks like www.Twitter.com/yourusername.

Switch to TweetDeck

Open a new tab in your browser, and type in the URL tweetdeck.twitter.com, you will be logged in TweetDeck automatically since you already in Twitter account and TweetDeck uses the same credential as Twitter.

Bookmark the URL tweetdeck.twitter.com, next time, you can login to TweetDeck directly.

Manage Team

TweetDeck’s biggest advantage is managing more people to work together, so the next step for account owner is to invite employees, team members, third party agents.

On left side navigation bar, click “Accounts”, then click “Manage team” button.

Under “Add a team member”, type in either username (includes @) or name, if you add wrong, Twitter shows an error message, some same names have a long list, difficult to find the right one, username would be easy due to its uniqueness.

Click “Authorize”, Pending request showed. By default, Twitter assigns invited people a role as Contributor, you can change role later according to their task, then you just wait for invitation accepted. Check TweetDeck different roles here, https://help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/tweetdeck-teams.

The process is pretty simple, with a business name and associated email, it can be created in minutes, the most important is setting up TweetDeck after a business account created, after all above things done, you can start business immediately.

You can start some other setting later, such as profile, business information, upload image etc.
