Modern Warfare 2 Remaster- No Russian

It’s 2009. You come home from school, boot up your Xbox 360, and launch Modern Warfare 2. You live close, and therefore you are the first one home, and therefore you decide to continue playing the incredible story that it offers. Continuing with the same incredible characters as Call of Duty 4. You get to a certain point in the story, and it asks if you would like to skip this mission as you may find it disturbing. Of course you just laugh, you aren’t going to skip it, you are a MAN! (Or a Woman). You begin to play through it. The elevator doors open. You pick up your gun. You start firing. You walk through this airport, murdering hundreds and hundreds of innocent people. Except those weren’t people. They were AI controlled characters.

Fast-Forward 10 years. It’s 2019. You have a good life. You aren’t a criminal. You haven’t murdered or attacked anyone. Guess what. ‘No Russian’ did not turn you into a mass-murderer, it was simply a great mission in a game.

It is being rumored that the remaster of Modern Warfare 2 wouldn’t include the ‘No Russian’ mission, due to the current political climate and backlash that it would likely receive from clueless bloggers and journalists, disgusted simply because they feel like being disgusted. ‘No Russian’ was included as it is vital to the plot, not just senseless violence. If a Modern-Warfare remaster does release, with the mission cut completely, it will be a massive disappointment, and a sign that games will eventually tone down all violence. Please, do not let this happen. If you choose to be offended, I’ll simply choose not to care.
