September 2018 — Fiance Visa & Coding

So as expected I was unable to complete the Udacity Front-End NanoDegree but I’ve continued learning and am still enjoying myself

Late last month my fiance has been issued her K-1 Visa and she will be arriving within a month or so. I’m very excited to see her again since it’s been 10 month’s now since we’ve seen each other in-person.

I have to admit I haven’t been able to focus on coding as much as I’d like just because I’m so excited for my fiance to get here. But I have been progressing; albeit slowly.

Looking back on the Udacity program I am a bit disappointed. The program seemed easy going thru the HTML & CSS portions but the JavaScript sections left much to be desired.

I felt the content didn’t teach the majority of skill’s necessary to complete the projects and people were forced to find outside material to complete the projects.

Perhaps it’s just me but I didn’t feel very confident on JavaScript after going thru the course material.

This month I’m continuing to go thru Learning Web Design 5th Ed. by Jennifer Robbins. This book goes over HTML, CSS, Design practices and some beginner JavaScript.

I haven’t had enough time to get into the JavaScript book yet but I will soon enough.

I also might re-enroll into Team Treehouse and am considering the Front-End TechDegree from them. I hear it is a gentler ramp up then Udacity.

Stay tuned and be sure to follow me!
