Trump’s New National Security Adviser Hates ‘Simple Truth’
Kevin Knodell

I wonder if McMasters history degree included reading about how retired Janissaries tended to be placed in prominent civil service positions throughout the Ottoman Empire because Muslims tended to mistrust their fellow Muslims in this positions. My interest is based on the fact that American officers in his unit and later most units found themselves as a sort of safe cultural go between for opposing Iraqi factions in Iraq who previously would cut trash, water or power to other sections of towns. Needless to say the removal of our officers/community negotiators from Iraqi leadership started a slow return to tribal politics and civil war. Frankly despite the fact that Maliki was such a bad President I’m impressed that Iraqi’s held out as long as they did.
