You missed my favorite: The indefinite pronoun of the English language is ‘he’.

Not a native English speaker, but I come across “they” as a neutral pronoun pretty much everywhere. Which is why I use it myself. When I used it in a test a couple of years ago I think it got flagged, but I think it’s the most elegant solution. Of course it was originally meant for plurals; but “you” can also mean one or multiple persons, so who cares. It’s certainly far better than the dehumanizing “it”, and the horribly bureaucratic “s/he”.
