As designers, for us truly to have empathy we need to interview, observe and talk with actual users. We should be advocating for them with both quantitative and qualitative data. There’s no faceless mistress. Our users are real and we should design based on self reference. Our personal design opinions should serve those users, we are on teams trying to help those users achieve goals.
