The gift of being a highly sensitive person

The true gift of being a highly sensitive person comes with the acknowledgement of what it really means to be highly sensitive.

It is often the case that real acknowledgement begins when we realise how our abilities as an HSP are so useful for what we really want to do.

When we realise that what we really love doing is enhanced by the very nature of our sensitivity.

In other words the HSP strengths of empathy, the ability to reflect, process more deeply and an awareness of subtlety.

How do we personally benefit from having our own authentic version of these abilities?

How do they bring greater meaning and enhance the very thing we love to do? Most importantly how do these abilities bring greater meaning and enhance the lives of the people we work with or would like to work with.

This shift in focus from the difficulties to the benefits is the very shift in perception we must make as HSP’s.

This shift is the doorway to self acceptance, self love and a relationship with ourselves that engages our abilities into use.

This move to self acceptance makes life so much more fulfilling and fun.

Especially since it means we can stop trying to imitate the other 80% of people around us.

For example trying to run our businesses and our lives in the same way. Or pushing harder and harder only sending ourselves further into overwhelm.

Take the HSP tendency towards perfectionism. This is often based in the fear of being different and a call for acceptance.

It is not the traits of being an HSP that cause us difficulty, it is the denial of our needs and our strengths.

Once we make the right adjustments in our lives, swap resistance for understanding doors begin to open.

We then give ourselves permission to experience the gift of being an HSP.

To allow ourselves the chance to become a part of an HSP community which without doubt is hugely important for us.

Isolation is something we do not need to suffer any longer. It is not a requirement and certainly not beneficial. Indeed we need downtime to recover but this must not be a reason to isolate.

That would be like having a brand new sports car sitting outside that never leaves the garage because we refuse to learn how to start it.

As an HSP we are in fact coded to be ‘Royal Advisers’. When one considers our abilities it makes perfect sense, off course we are. The intuition, subtlety of awareness and depth of processing. We notice and feel things that others may miss. Nature has designed us this way for a reason.

So when we learn to play to our strengths and design our businesses and lives accordingly that is when we truly begin to experience the magic of being an HSP.

Strengths that truly are indeed a gift.

On September 30th 2017 we are running our next Finding Heart workshop in the UK. The workshop is a designed specifically for HSP’s.
