Philadelphia 76ers Alltime Roster
- Philadelphia 76ers
PG— Allen Iverson
SG — Hal Greer
SF — Julius Erving
PF — Charles Barkley
C — Wilt Chamberlain
Reserves: Moses Malone, Andre Iguodala, Mo Cheeks
Starting off very strong with one of the best point guards ever, Allen Iverson gives this team a great floor general with a player who can score and pass with the best of them. Averaging 27 points per game and 6 assists throughout 12 seasons is no small feat. In addition to Iverson, 3 of the players on the roster have lead the league in points per game, and rebounds per game. The scoring ability of Hal Greer and Julius Erving is almost unmatched. Hal greer averaged 20 points per game before their was a three-point line. As if this team wasn’t already dominant enough they also have two of the most formidable big men ever. Charles Barkley at 6’7 averaged 11 rebounds per game through his career, showing just how good he must have been to get boards with a height disadvantage. Then comes Wilt the Stilt leading the league in rebounds and points for 5 seasons in a row. Not only could he rebound and score, but while he played with the 76ers, he averaged 7 assists per game. With all of that talent it would be expected that there would be a large drop off skill between the starters and the bench, but this wasn’t the case in Philly. The fact that a player like Moses Malone has to come off the bench is just baffling. He is one of the greatest centers to ever play the game and could do just about anything a team needed. The 76ers bench has players that can do a variety of things with scoring, rebounding, defense and passing this team was just all around incredible.
Best Player: Wilt Chamberlain (He would have been 81 today)
Atlantic Division Ranking: 2nd
Overall Team Grade: A+
