Disclaimer:

This project is part of the UI/UX Training Program held by Digitalent part from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Indonesia) in collaboration with Skilvul and Jago as a challenge partner. I neither work for nor am in contract with Jago.

Introduction

Role in Team

as a UI/UX Designer team, I collaborated with 3 other members namely Rio, Ardelia, and Dona. In this Project Case Study, I have complete responsibility for making Prototypes of the onboarding feature, making will pouches, creating wills, and gamification. In the process of making a Prototype, I am also responsible for compiling User Flow, and creating Wireframe and UI Design for all features that will be created — equipped with a documenting Design System for typography, color, icon, and button guidance in designing a feature.

Overview

Jago is a finance application that simplifies money management, allowing customers to collaborate and share their financial planning with families or friends. One of the collaboration features that Jago wants to have is Jago Last Wish — a feature to help last wishes comes true before/after one passes away.

Challenge

Some of the features that are recommended to be included in the prototype proposal from the bank Jago of champions:

  • Easy steps for making a will, considering that users can enter various types of requests
  • An easy way to calculate the required monthly payment for the desired form of will
  • Management of commitments made and editing wills
  • Gamification or creative ways related to a healthy lifestyle and fitness level that can reduce the cost of that monthly commitment

Design Process

Empathize & Define

In the Jago case, we are given the customer segmentation and the pain point that the Last Wish feature trying to solve. Based on the description, we identify the problem and come up with a solution: How might we make the process of Last Wish easy, simple, and secure?

Ideate Stage

Now that the problem is apparent, our next step is brainstorming the solutions to reach the goal of “How might we make the process of Last Wish easy, simple, and secure”. In this phase, we come up with the must-have tasks and prioritize them.

User flow

At this stage, I create a sequence or flow of each step that the user must do in detail for a new feature called Bank Jago’s will pocket.

Before designing the UI from the user flow process above, I created this (Low-fidelity) wireframe to help the team present information quickly in the form of an interface, providing an outline of the structure and layout of the interface using the Design System guide.

High-Fidelity Design ( UI Design)

At this stage, I created a Wireframe (Low-fidelity)-based User Interface design that was made with the dominance of 2 Brand Colors which became Bank Jago’s advantage. For a more complete display design, see the prototype section

Prototyping

UI Design from the results of Low-Fidelity Design to High-Fidelity Design which has been completed is then made into a Prototyping form based on the Task Flow flow compiled in the user flow step. Prototyping is critical when I do Usability Testing for users.

Testing

Before proceeding to User Research, to help record the history, conclusions, and suggestions of respondents at the Interview and Usability Testing stage, I prepared a User Research Stimulus Document and a User Research Data Record. The method I use is an Online Quiz with google form, with respondent criteria: 25–40 years old, Work as an employee/employee in any agency, Domiciled throughout Indonesia, and Have the ability to speak Indonesian as a mother tongue. with a trial run of 4 Tasks, including:
1. Asking the user to create a will Pouch.
2. Asking the user to complete the Willing Pocket Registration and requesting to do a Calculation Simulation, filling in Add heirs, a will until it is successful.
3. Asking the user to enter the Will Feature menu after completing the Will Pouch and requesting to manage the will
4. Ask the user to play the wills pocket game.

The result starts by asking questions to find out the background, knowledge, and personal introduction of the respondent to the last wish or will.

Conclusion

This design is made based on data and challenges from Bank Jago, according to the results of research that I hope to be able to meet user needs. I want to provide a new solution in the process of making a will or last wish.

In the process of making it, I found there are still many things that I need to master to make case studies starting from the Empathize, Define, Ideate, and Prototyping to the Testing side so that the next case study results that I can get more satisfying from all aspects.

In a few case studies from me, I hope to answer the user’s need to be able to make a will or last wish quickly and easily anywhere and anytime.
