Privilege and inequality in Silicon Valley

After skimming ‘How I got here’ section, I thought this is one of those privileged Stanford kids whining about poverty; how poor can a Stanford kid be, after all? Mostly because I have been through worse: my parents and I were living a a tiny room w/ no window, kitchen is basically a shack and rest room a public one. The room was so hot in summer nights because there is essentially no air flow (AC was so far-fetched).

Then I got into ‘Mindset inequality’ section and realized, OMG, this is exactly what I have been feeling as well. Indeed door kids carry a lot of financial and mindset baggages, and it is very very difficult to get rid of those. Thank you for bringing clarity to this issue.

Lastly I want to share a quote by Matt McConaughey: ‘LIFE’S NOT EASY…don’t try and make it that way. It’s not fair, it never was, it isn’t now, it won’t ever be. Do not fall into the entitlement trap of feeling you are a victim, you are not. Get over it and get on with it’
