  • This update addresses a known issue that might cause your VPN connection to fail. This occurs after you install the update dated April 9, 2024, or later.
  • It addresses a problem that could lead to increased NTLM authentication traffic on domain controllers (DC).
  • Also fixes issues affecting Virtual Secure Mode (VSM) scenarios, which might include failures in VPN, Windows Hello, Credential Guard, and KeyGuard.

This update also introduces account-related notifications for Microsoft accounts in Settings > Home, helping you manage data backups, subscriptions, and security. These notifications appear across the Start menu and Settings and can be managed in Settings > Privacy & security > General. It enhances lock screen Widgets with better reliability, quality, visuals, and customization. It also fixes Bluetooth stability issues with wireless earbuds having firmware from April 2023 onwards. Additionally, the update improves Windows Search reliability, making it easier to find installed apps and providing a personalized search experience.

Additionally, it includes quarterly updates to the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist file to mitigate BYOVD attacks, resolves bypass issues with Protected Process Light (PPL) protections, fixes memory leaks in the Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC), and ensures Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) Post Authentication Actions (PAA) occur correctly at the end of the grace period.
