A device driver is an essential piece of code that allows Windows 10 to interact with the components and peripherals (such as graphics cards, network adapters, mice, keyboards, and printers). Windows 10 automatically downloads and installs device drivers when you install the latest windows updates. However, sometimes, you may still need to update some devices manually for a number of reasons. Whatever the reason, you can easily update the device driver from Device Manager. In this guide, you will learn, how to Update Device Drivers in Windows 10.

Install drivers using Device Manager

Press the Windows key + X Click Device Manager

Once the device manager is open, select the device, right-click it and click Update Driver Software

This will launch the update driver software wizard, which presents two options.

Search automatically for updated driver software — it's possible Windows might have the driver software if you have not checked it yet, if it's taking too long, then the next option is usually best.

Browse my computer for driver software — if there is a compatible driver and you already have the driver files, then all you need to do is point to it and Windows automatically install it for you.

Select the folder with the extracted driver files.

Click the OK button.

Check the Include subfolders option to allow the wizard to find the correct “.inf” file that includes the instructions to update the driver.

Click the Next button.

After you complete the steps, the wizard will scan, detect, and install the newer driver on your device to improve the overall experience and support with fixes and new features.
