Hi, I am Glo Rose and I want to tell you why I write my books.

Our world is constantly changing and facing trying times. For our children, it can be unclear and difficult to process emotionally. We see our children expressing outbursts, unnecessary roughness, disinterest, and a sense of loss emanating from them. Since the night my son and I had a misunderstanding over ice cream, this has been a realization for me.

Our children need our help now more than ever. With all that is happening in schools, different subjects, pressures of trying, disappointments of failing, and so on, it isn’t easy being a kid. Their days are full of all they see and the changes from growing up. They need our help.

Thus, the passion for Glo Rose and Glo Rose Books was born. To desire to create awareness and tools to help our children navigate this trying world to see it for its beauty and possibility. To encourage our children to recognize their feelings and speak up about them. To explain to parents and adults how important it is to check in with our kids and listen to their concerns.

Let’s discuss the stories of Glo Rose Books. In these stories, our children are provided visual examples of the different emotions they may face on any given day. They can see how to recognize different feelings, express what they are feeling, and not let those feelings get too big without addressing them.

Next, there are journals and activity books. In the activity books, younger children are given activities to learn about topics for school, themselves, and their emotions. They can use the activity to become more comfortable and open about their feelings. The journals are for our teenagers. These journals ask hard questions, provide options to explore their emotions off social media, and learn more about themselves. To feel comfortable in their skin to take on the world with confidence.

Currently, I am working on journals for dealing with grief. With all that has happened in the last few years, we can no longer pretend that our children aren’t experiencing the loss of loved ones and friends.

One less child bottling up their emotions. One less child not hurting themselves or others. One more child stands up in their skin and healthily works through emotions. That is why I keep writing and creating. So that one day we will have emotionally healthy adults that use the tools around us to strengthen our world for the better.
