This fall, theatergoers will get to witness the true story of the first African American to sit on the United States Supreme Court, Thurgood Marshall. The film explores the early years of Marshall’s career as an NAACP attorney as he takes on the case of a black chauffeur accused of the sexual assault of his white employer. This defining moment sets the stage for Marshall’s later victory in Brown v. Board of Education and his rise to national prominence. Starring Chadwick Boseman (who is slated to also star in Marvel’s Black Panther in February), Josh Gad, Sterling K. Brown and Kate Hudson, round out the cast of what by all accounts, looks to be both an exciting and important film. Marshall hits theaters on October 13, 2017. Check out the official trailer below.
