We are thrilled to announce that starting on November 2nd 2023, Wingbits has officially entered its Beta stage!

What have we achieved during the alpha?

1. We joined and completed the Antler accelerator during which we talked to customers and advisors to improve our business plan.
2. Without investing any money in advertising, we’ve cultivated a small yet dedicated Discord community.
3. During the alpha stage, our incredible community set up 70 antennas, resulting in nearly 14 billion position updates. And yes, we saved every single one!

What happens now?

As always, we are deeply grateful to our early adopters and those who patiently awaited their turn on the waitlist. In appreciation, we’ve mapped out a timeline that we believe will cater to everyone:

• October 16th: The Pioneers received early access to both test the beta and explore the SkyHex store.
• November 2nd: We launched the new Wingbits dashboard, where everyone can now register their antennas and upload data. Additionally, we stopped new additions to the waitlist.
• November 3nd at 10am CET: The SkyHex store will be accessible to everyone on the waitlist.
• November 6th at 10am CET: The SkyHex store opens its doors to the general public.

Roadmap

Even though we joined the accelerator after publishing our initial roadmap, we accomplished most of the alpha objectives without significant deviation. Additionally, we’ve already begun addressing some beta goals, such as SkyHex.

As a result, our attention for the upcoming quarter will shift to the web3 aspect of the project. In this period, we’ll select an appropriate blockchain for our project and start distributing rewards on the testnet.

It’s important to highlight that, starting from November 1st, a minimum ownership of 1 SkyHex will be required to earn rewards.

How to become a data provider?

Step 1: Secure your SkyHex

• Create an account on wingbits.com
• Navigate to SkyHex on the left-hand side of your dashboard.
• Choose the Hex or Hexes you wish to own. Prioritize the hex where your antenna is situated or where you can provide most data
• Acknowledge and Accept the Terms and Conditions
• Complete the payment process
• A purple highlight indicates your Hex ownership

Step 2: Install Your Antenna

• Click on Antennas located on the left-hand side of your dashboard.
• Hit Register Antenna and pinpoint the accurate location.
• Copy the provided code on the Antennas page
• Use SSH to access your Raspberry Pi or other supported devices
• Execute the provided code. At the end of the script, you should see that both services are up and running. If they are not, restart and reinstall
