Takin’ steps before the big jump
We’ve tediously moved all of our belongings from one place to another. We’ve made loose plans on where we will be and what we should do for our business — our careers. We’ve pencilled in events for Winks and Whiskers, all the while leaving room for the ever changing and exciting lives of our close friends and family. Now? We are getting so close to our big adventure we can almost taste it (think Sadie and her antic longing for rawhide bones). We’ve hiked to the summit of the Dale’s Hollow rocky edge where you don’t have the option of looking down, you just…

But before we got to this point, we realized we had to slow it down! There was so much amazing things going on before we officially packed our bags and called the road our home.
The whole point of this adventure was to be together, and experience life. Our life together? Well, it’s primarily made up of friends and family. We’re not ever really leaving for good, we will always be back. We will always be asking, “Can we park our trailer in your yard and play cards with you guys?” So, we postponed the big adventure a few weeks and shared memories with those who we adore most.
A West Virginia Wedding

First on our agenda was to celebrate the joining of two beautiful souls. A couple’s love brought together by their love for nature and the want to be together. Winding through the hills of West Virginia, we made it to the quaint relative home, where they had a vintage car hosting cupcakes and they had hanging outdoor lights strewn about the barn. After a small ceremony on hay bails tucked between a gravel path and rolling hills, we camped by a family owned home built in the 1800’s. It was the perfect backdrop to the starry sky and laughter lighting up the night. Best part? They had their dogs Chewy and Nellie attend the ceremony. As crazy dog parents, that hit home!
My take away was simple, it’s always refreshing to be with friends. We want to make that effort more often. #truckstuff
From Friends to Family

What’s seven hours of driving from West Virginia to Tennessee back to back when you get to spend more quality time with your family in a cabin at Dale Hollow Lake? It was well worth the travels, and might I add a little training before the big trip, that’s what! All twelve of us enjoyed a day on the lake. We swam, we did the rope swing, we…
Jumped off a freakin’ cliff. Now, aside from all the great things we did this vacation, this was the one thing I couldn’t really get behind right away. Kayla and my brothers swam up to the rocky ledges without looking back leaving me in their wake. I was cool with that at first, but man, was I going to let this happen? My brotherly competition is one thing, but missing out on an experience with my wife was another.
I jumped not exactly because I wanted it the most, but because I wanted to share that experience together. That’s the takeaway from this trip. I want to push myself and just go explore. I would have 100% regretted not awkwardly walking out to that ledge and saying a small prayer and leaping into the great beyond.
It’s Winks and Whiskers Time!

We made it back in one piece, and we were exhausted from just living. It was a great feeling, and I’m sure I’ll keep writing about that feeling. With a few days to spare, it was on to getting ready for some events!
Market in the Park

This event was our first hometown event and hopefully not our last! At the beginning of every month, Market in the Park is held and features great vendors and food trucks right in the middle of Armco Park. We had a great time showing off our spread to family who joined and we had an even better time meeting everyone! We were pleasantly surprised with all the pet people out there, and that made us feel even more at home. Our “Home of the Strays” and “Save and Play, Ohio” shirts were received well!
Big American Block Paw-ty

Another SICSA event for the books! The amazing people at SICSA didn’t let the rain stop them from throwing a great party. They setup our fellow vendors inside the bar (how’d they know) and everything continued as planned. We talked all things vendor and even got to chill and enjoy the live music! Did we mention there was adoptable kittens?!

Cute little kittens, a nice segue into our big announcement: SICSA is our next spotlight charity! After doing a couple events with their supportive and super charged staff, it was the obvious choice. We’ve gotten to see first hand how they positively impacted the lives of pets and their owners. Please, check them out at www.sicsa.org.
The Big Finale

At the Paws in the Plaza event, Kayla, Sadie and I finally got to donate to our first feature cause, Cause for Paws Ohio. All the hard work had paid off, and we felt so good about it! We held true to our promise of donating a portion of every purchase, and we got to personally hand it off to Allie, a rockstar Cause for Paws representative. CFP is another amazing cause with such inspiring goals and people. We really hope to continue this adventure and help the pet community as there are so many pets that need our help, and we all need to come together to give them lives they deserve, and yes, we still donate a portion of every purchase. We hope to make more sales, and give SICSA even more support!
By purchasing your next pet inspired shirt, tank, or tote your not only helping us continue on our travels, but your helping an amazing cause or charity. Because, this, is what we are all about. Check out our products here!
