Day 2 — Week Of Spiritual Emphasis

Praise is a commandment of God for his children

Psalm 56:4

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Praise is the trigger for a supernatural turnaround in any situation in life.

2 Corinthians 4:18

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

praise is the trigger for supernatural turnaround

Praise is what to do when you don’t know what to do, It provokes supernatural favour, favour is a selection above others, and favour is to receive over-generous preferential treatment.

Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is deserved

Psalm 44:3

For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

One of the access points to divine favour is praise, favour honours our effort, favour is not automatic but entreated.

Esther 5:1

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

Isaiah 61:3

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Praise is a garment that God cannot resist, praise is calling unto God, every time a man puts on praise God says come.

Psalm 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

When praise goes before you, God says come. The channel of praise is our access point to favour.

Components Of Acceptable Praise

  • Righteousness

Psalm 33:1

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

  • Praise him with joy

James 5:13

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

Jeremiah 17:10

I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Joy is the lotion, and praise is the garment

Jeremiah 17:10

I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Until joy is located, God is not interested

Psalm 33:1

Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Praise demands joy

  • Understanding

The degree of our understanding determines how outstanding our praise becomes

Psalm 47:7

For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

To praise God effectively:

  • Praise God by singing
  • Praise God by clapping
  • Praise God with the dance 1sam 16:18

Nothing flies like a favour, you can’t put a favoured man down

A case study is Joseph

Genesis 39:1

And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.

Genesis 41:39

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

Favour was the singular factor found in Joseph

Genesis 45:8

So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
