The power of the Generation effect. And no, it’s not what you think it is.

In physics we’ve studied about the generation effect (okay, more appropriately termed generat-or effect) which refers to the production of a voltage when a conductor moves perpendicular to a magnetic field.

But that is not what I am here to talk about today.

Instead, I am here to discuss about the experimental finding that when participants generated a target item, the generated item is almost always better remembered than the item just read.
