An excellent article, with many good points. The comments are also really good, and show how Windows Power Users have some answers. I have a bit of a different perspective.
I pay very little attention to the details of how the OS works (I too can easily go back and forth between MacOS and Win10). I think for most users it’s about the applications that they use, and nowadays, maybe the particular hardware, too.
For video editing, I must use my Mac because I only use Final Cut Pro 7. For vector graphics, I still use Flash (just for drawing), and the implementation on the Mac is better for me than on Windows — that may be due to the fact that the original creators of Flash had just come from a Mac-only company.
For browsing, I much prefer to do this on my Surface Pro 4 using Edge, mainly because then I like to use touch. And when I occasionally go on the road, I only take my Surface Pro 4, it’s so light and easy to carry around. When using Word, it doesn’t matter at all which OS I use. And, using OneDrive makes it easy to go between the Mac and Windows.
So, for me, it isn’t the OS that determines which of my computers I use. Finally, keep in mind that Windows 10 and UWP are still new — I know of software that is coming in the near future (still in stealth) which will do things in Win10 that _cannot_ be done in MacOS
