Perks of being a wallflower
This movie is based on the best selling novel by Stephen Chbosky published in 1999
Perks of being a wallflower is about a reserved high school freshman who is later acquainted with a group of older kids who help him embrace his flaws.
The cast includes - Charlie (Logan Lerman) who is low on confidence and faces the typical freshman crisis on the first day. Sam and Patrick (Emma Watson and Ezra Miller) welcome him on their table in the lunchroom. Patrick is tall and gay , Sam is loveable and friendly. Charlie assumes Sam and Patrick are a couple but later Sam corrects him as they’re half siblings
Charlie eventually gets a crush on Sam. Also he usually has imaginary meetings with his dead aunt played by (Melanie Lynskey) who is one of the key players in his life. Sam although friendzones him since she already has a boyfriend and encourages their friendship. Through them , Charlie later meets Mary Elizabeth (Mae Whitman) who is definitely interested in dating him and Bob (Adam Hagenbuch)
With time , Charlie realises he may be shy but he is certainly entertaining. He learns a little about sex drinking and drugs and a lot about friendship. The song Heroes by David Bowie cant go unnoticed.
He is also guided by his English teacher Mr. Anderson (Paul Rudd) who motivates him to read books.
