FomoFood is an iOS app I designed to cater to a saturated restaurant industry. By conducting some user research, I concluded that Yelp, while very popular, lacks the ability to truly provide a more customized and tailored experience for user. For example, I identified that one of the most annoying things with Yelp was that it did not provide on demand Uber or Delivery, which may disrupt the full user experience. When considering a restaurant, users decide based on food, ambience, price, reviews, and distance to travel. Because this app integrates Postmates, Uber, and OpenTable, it eliminates the need for users to redirect to other apps, providing a more streamlined UX. Furthermore, the app positions itself as differently than Yelp; FomoFood only provides users with restaurants that would be considered $$ or above on Yelp. By doing so, our app primarily targets individuals that live in an urban area with nicer restaurants.
After beginning my workflow with some research, I used the old pen and paper to create fast mockups, which I then imported into the app POP to link the various pages.

After creating the mockup, I used Sketch3 to design the hi-fi prototype, then exported it to Flinto for more complex animations. In my previous projects, I used MarvelApp but I found that it lacked the full flexibility that Flinto animations offer. Flinto, however, does not offer users the ability to test the app as it doesn’t export to anything but a .flinto file, so I screen recorded a video of me interacting with the app (below). Enjoy!
