Thank you for your touching and honest words about grief and the need to feel the tangible expressions of emotional support from others.

I can personally relate to much of what you have said, as I lost my father in May 2016. I am a huge proponent of human attachment, the face to face gazing, touch, and emotional sharing are part of the way that we are hardwired to experience comfort and pull us from isolation.
