Key, you’re connected to a group of other travelers. I’ve been alone in Doha, without any connection. Did I beat fear of walking around alone during the day & night, taking taxis. Yes. It felt amazing! My response was rather to how often I read about people traveling solo, then find out they were with a group of nomads, friends or local tours. I’m not saying it’s so dangerous don’t do it. If you’re a young female traveler I think it’s smart to be alert.
