480 World LLC: The Independent Record Label Making Insane Progress
480 World LLC is an independent record label & music marketing company founded & based in Phoenix, AZ. Founded in January, 2020, 480 World was the brainchild of Blake McCowan-Martin, better known by his rap alias BlakeShawn Music LLC.
480 World was initially started as an artist collective for fellow Phoenix area artists, geared towards performing at live events & producing & marketing tracks the group created. In the summer of 2020, 480 World launched its own online radio station “480 Radio” as a means to get local artists heard.
This was a pivotal point for 480 World LLC as the next move was a full blown record label. 480 Radio was sadly a failed attempt but, an important trial and error for the label. 480 Radio, led to some invaluable connections for the upcoming brand & label, which the label was able to use to take the next steps in becoming an independent voice, and marketing machine for upcoming artists.
In 2021 480 World began working closely with Australian recording artist Adam Alobaid, helping to market his music and push him to a new American audience.
In mid 2021, 480 World LLC made it official, filing for articles of formation in Arizona, officially bringing the company to fruition. In late 2022 Adam Alobaid signed a distribution deal with the company, its first deal.
In early to mid 2023 480 World went on to sign 2 new artists, Orlando, FL based artist Glo Golden & Tucson, AZ rapper-producer, Santi Acosta.
For the short 3 years since 480 World started, they’ve garnered an impressive 45,000,000+ streams for their artists.
Going on to chart 4 times on the iTunes Charts. 2 songs in their discography charted 2 separate times, BlakeShawn’s infamous meme rap track “S*ck My D*ck” came in at #3 on the Ukrainian Hip Hop charts & #21 overall in Ukrainian in summer of 2020. “Money II” featuring Diego Money & Matt Ox by BlakeShawn came in at #23 on the Estonia Hip Hop charts & #41 overall.
Over the 3 year span the label has also had some nice success on YouTube amassing over 3 million hits & over 12,000 subscribers.
480 World has worked with the likes of previously mentioned, Matt Ox & Diego Money. They’ve also worked with producer collective “Legion Beats” to secure verses from Rick Ross, Rich The Kid & Dizzy Wright. They also have a feature from self proclaimed “squeak rapper” 645AR upcoming 5/26/23, a rapper who dominated the TikTok rap scene from early 2020 to late 2021.
