Everything, and people’s payments are capped at 10% of their income and so sure, some won’t ever pay it back. Same people if on insurance would never pay premiums that pay it back either, and people on government run health-care pay a whole lot in taxes.
Israel is an extraordinary country but the bottom line is we know how to increase service and lower prices in any industry. It’s not through single payer and it’s not through the insurance based system. As far any country like Israel or much of Europe, in which we subsidized their defense, let them pay for their entire defense budget for a long period of time and then talk to me about their health care system. It’s easy to pour money into social programs when you have the American taxpayer subsidize your military.
