So Long, Suckers!
Debbie Galant

It was how I occupied my new Decca portable with removable speakers, my first stereo, back in the fifties. I still remember the sampler. Ruth Welcome and her Zither. Arrivederci Roma. Lazy Bones. Hi Fi albums were $3.98 at the record shops back then, and a dollar more for stereo, which wasn’t all that common. Some Jazz classics came to me from the Columbia Club, but, prefiguring cable TV bundling, lots of crap was ever in the mix.

Thanks for the memories.
