The bulk of this article covers how the game came up with the 11:6 ratio of cards in the policy deck. As someone with an interest in this aspect of game design it’s an interesting read. Following along, the only part I think I would have diverged was when you decided to discard the cards. That to me was the most interesting part of the design process because it’s a small change that had a huge effect on the gameplay. It completely rocks every fundamental aspect of the game. I have to assume it was linked to the assassination because assassination doesn’t seem necessary until then wherein it suddenly becomes essential.
