We live in a bizarre world of contradictions. To quote J-Z they want “a lady in the street but a freak in the bed”.
its exhausting and impossible to walk the tightrope between, sexy, yet not too sexy, smart, but not too smart, make up but not too much make up… the list goes on.
Men seem to want to sexualise us constantly (and we are accused of being a “prude” or a “man hater”, “lesbian” blah blah.. if we fight back against this). but equally they don’t value a women who is sexualsied.
A good example of this is the “no sex until date 3 rule” we are taught that sex is something you cant be too ready to give up — you are taught to play this game where he asks and you say no, until you have waited long enough that he won’t think you’re slut but not so long as to make you a dick tease. the whole “why would he bye the cow when he can get the milk for free” — which is an absolutely grotesque saying and is as insulting to men as it is to women.
urgh
