You’re right about giving good feedback, but the reality is — investing is a herd mentality. And a sizable number of investors lack the vision, that makes entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs.
Case in point: we are building a highly disruptive product for a $450billion market (business process disruption like Airbnb/Uber), the biggest/only question objection that we get from the very few folks we have shared the idea with is “will the dog eat the dog food?” It’s much like “will I be willing to jump into a stranger’s car” or “will I let a stranger into my house and sleep at night?” Common sense, says YES but it’s not easy to write a check for most… If/as it works, it will be the next Uber, and B-School case study, if not, we’ll just go home and remain a B-School case study :) Anywho, we’ve already raised seed capital.. (yep, took all of ONE-meeting!) But this whole issue is very close to my heart as a true and major business process disruption (appropos the overly used Silicon valley descriptor for all startups ;))
