AI-generated faces are rarely perfect, this article gives you a few easy steps that anyone can do. If you’re curious, the images below were created using Midjourney to support the development of Legendfall, an RPG Card Game.

Legendfall Bloodtouched (Game Character Artwork)

Step One — Generate AI Artwork

Using a tool like Midjourney or Dall E 2, create some semi-realistic human artwork or portraits. Ensure you include in your prompt words like: portrait, high detail, symmetrical to produce the best quality faces. It’s ok if the eyes in your portrait look distorted, so long as they are roughly parallel with one another on the face. If you don’t have access to one of these AI art tools, post a note in the comments along with some information about you and I’ll do my best to get you an invite.

Step Two — Upload to ARC Tencent Facial Restoration

The ARC Facial Restoration tool specializes in restoring old and damaged photos. Below is an example of the before and after. Incredible isn’t it. The ARC tool doesn't require sign-up nor does it have any terms of use. Depending on which country you are from, proceed with an appropriate amount of risk if you intend to use the tool for commercial purposes.
