I just turned 60 and now feel, after a year of healing, that I’m healing well from a serious concussion two and a half years ago. I pretty much ignored it for eight months until I woke up one morning with vertigo and couldn’t lift my head! A number of other physical things happened that I felt were a result of the concussion – with the final one being a broken wrist sustained when I fell because I was tired and my body couldn’t handle it anymore. I decided that I wasn’t going to turn sixty this way! A physiotherapist specializing in cranial injuries started the ball rolling. Then a naturopath, a homeopath and a health conscious chiropractor working together (full body/year treatment). Today I feel like I’m coming out the other side. Still need to get my physical stamina up and there are permanent changes that I’ve had to accept. Stress, lots of noise or computer time are out. Meditation music is in, conscious breathing is in, asking for help for things I am not able or don’t do (vs can’t do), positive people and thoughts are needed. You get the picture. And now I feel ready to take on this exciting new decade. Sending much healing and calm your way.
