tiny cabin overlooking the Ozark National Forest

A few weekends ago, I had the chance unplug with some friends in a tiny cabin outside of Cass, Arkansas. No electricity, no running water, and a 5 gallon bucket for a bathroom. Not for the glampers in the crowd. An acquaintance and all around Renaissance man Jeremy “Puff” Hayes, built this beautiful cabin with his own hands… and it’s just fantastic. Set on top of some large boulders, and built with geothermal venting in mind, the cabin is a a shoe-in for the next Cabin Porn book. Reclaimed wood, glass, and a windows overlooking an breathtaking expanse of the Ozarks.

A beautiful setting to work on some writing projects I’ve been kicking around for a while, and to simply unplug to take in the silence. Of course, we packed in some Woodshed Tea and found slow moments to brew up a pot of High Mountain Oolong and Golden Needles for some pick me up.

The weekend went by pretty quick even with the slowness of cabin life. Definitely a place I want to go back to, often. Such an inspirational location to write, talk, and chill. Big shout out to B-Hill for setting this up and continuing to give great perspective on shooting photos of product and scenes. He’s got an eye folks. Keep watch on what he continues to do behind the lens with Wolf & Bear, a great visual storyteller and even greater friend!

Check out some other shots from the cabin below. And be sure to check out our teas at woodshedtea.com, a perfect traveling companion as you go off grid for an adventure of your own making.

Get out there.
