3 Ways To Boost Your Writing Skills

I became a writer by choice, not accident. Then why am I losing my sheen?
That’s a great question. If you’re a writer for the web like me, you will understand how important it is to work on a content that is not only of high-quality and informative, but super engaging and persuasive.
Whether you are writing online, or in your journal, there will definitely come a day, where you’ll feel like, eh! Believe me, I felt so many ehs past few months that it was difficult to come out of the dilemma.
Okay, it is true when I say, whatever you do, you need to love doing it, else you’ll simply work like a Robocop!
There are numerous tools and resources available in the internet designed to boost writing skills. However, it is important to first be able to walk then run, right?!
I’m share 3 tips on improving your writing skills. And these tips are from personal experience. I’m still working with them. You can say it by this article of mine!
If I’m unable to help you, there is Neil Patel — Take cue from this guy. He’s simply awesome!
TIP 1
Writing is like playing a musical instrument. You have to continue practicing, to become a rockstar. So, to become a rockstar writer, you need to start writing anything and everything under the sun. I joined Medium to share my thoughts, stories but also to hone my writing skills. Along with Medium, I keep writing for my websites — http://wordinnova.com/ and http://quadrant.technology/ … (Forgive me for being a marketing douche here!)
This practice will help you sharpen your rusty hand. You can also scribble in your journal, notebooks, paper or even in the toilet paper — toilet is the best place to get fantastic ideas — to pen down your thoughts and improve your writing skills. The key is to write — it’s obvious right, being a writer you need to practice writing, just like a chef, who needs to cook!
TIP 2
Read like there’s no tomorrow. A successful writer is one who is a keen reader. Reading helps in developing an eye for details. The more you read, the better you become in writing grammatically perfect content. There is a thumb-rule to reading though. If you’re a writer in health and wellness niche, don’t just stick to reading materials that are within this subject.
Diversify and expand your horizon, when it comes to reading material. Read anything that is available in front of you — even if it has to be a ticket butt, or description at the back of a ready-to-eat pizza pack. The more you read, the better you become in writing smoothly.
Tip 3
Be your own judge — And a harsh one. Who doesn’t likes to be great! But greatness is achieved, when you’re self-critical. No, I’m not asking you to bash yourself. The key is to read your material, over and over again, continue working on drafts and publish the content, when you’re 1000% sure of what is in front of you. Share the write-up with friends, family and colleagues. Be open to their criticism and try to edit and work in the piece, until and unless you get to read a great article!
I completed my day’s quota of writing my thoughts. When will you start?!
