WordPress.com Does The Calypso

The biggest update happened today. And I’m talking about Wordpress.com. The new update is called Calypso — rewritten by Automattic.
So, what’s the big deal here?!
Well, the big deal is that Wordpress.com is no longer part of the core domain of Wordpress. In fact, it is like just another third-party application and admin interface connecting with the core. You can say, Wordpress.com has left its nest and developed in a new team altogether!
Plus point -
- The new and improved Wordpress.com, transports content — uploading images, publishing posts, etc. — through a REST API. Unlike the older version — built on MySQL and PHP — developers used API calls and JavaScript to build it.
- It’s entirely on GitHub and open source.
- Single Page Application. Now, interface interaction is done without many screen loads.
- The Single Page Application makes user-experience more happening. Everything is compatible on mobile devices and super responsive.
- Users can visit the backend directly, in spite of using the admin backend.
- Download the Mac app and use Wordpress.com.
25% websites today, are on Wordpress.com. And more and more newcomers are entering the market causing a reason for major overhaul by Automattic. They rewrote the process in order to race ahead of its emerging competitors, like, Medium.
The new Wordpress.com is not only an awesome web app, but is super clean and simple, with an appealing interface.
