Midlands State University is seeking a Research, Innovation, and Industry Liaison Officer (RIILO).
The incumbent will liaise with the industry for students’ work-related learning placements, provide regular updates on the work-related learning program outcomes, and work with the faculty, government, industry, business, communities, and other stakeholders to form productive partnerships. The RIILO will report to the Executive Dean.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise with industry for students’ work-related learning placements
- Provide regular updates on the work-related learning program outcomes and assist departments to identify issues that may inform curriculum review processes
- Work with the faculty, government, industry, business, communities, and other stakeholders to form productive partnerships
- Liaise with the Research and Innovation Division and advise departments on innovations, industrialisation, and commercialisation
- Coordinate and organise faculty research seminar series, presentations, conferences, and expos
- Work in collaboration with departments to monitor and track alumni achievements
- Coordinate and document community engagement activities
- Perform any other duties as may be delegated by the Executive Dean
Qualifications and Experience:
- First degree in the field of Agriculture with a strong bias towards Marketing, passed with a 2.1 or better
- A holder of a Master’s Degree in Agriculture
- Knowledge of intellectual property rights is an added advantage
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a related field
