One Hour and Fifteen Minutes

From the moment I walk in the door after work I have exactly one hour and fifteen minutes to spend with my eight month old daughter before bed. One hour and fifteen minutes to absorb all she has learned at daycare (what she pulls herself up now?!). One hour and fifteen minutes to teach her something new, to hear her giggles, to give her a bath, read stories and get some cuddles in (because cuddles are the soul’s nourishment).

It helps to know in my heart of hearts that I will be a better mom if I work (but am I being a better mom?). This is the challenge of a late-20's, new mom whose working on climbing the corporate ladder. My legs are tired and my heart is hurting but my eyes are locked onto my baby…or my goals… or my baby???
