Because of its unique properties, it is already stain and heat-resistant, as well as resistant to knife damage; however, you should always use a cutting board — you may not damage your counters, but you will damage your knives.
The only exception is if you choose a honed finish over a polished one. As a result, the stone is more prone to staining. Check with the supplier about the maintenance requirements of the specific stone and finish that you’re interested in before purchasing black granite or any other natural stone. If you are unsure whether a granite countertop requires sealing, you can perform a water test. Place a few drops of water on the counter in an inconspicuous area and leave it for a few minutes. The sealant or natural stone surface is intact if it remains beaded up on the surface. If it becomes absorbed, the stone must be sealed. If you apply a sealant to a stone that doesn’t require it, it can leave hazy streaks that are difficult to remove, so make sure it’s absolutely necessary.

Simply cleaning your Absolute Black granite countertops with gentle soap and water is the best way to keep them looking great. Cleaning Everyday
For daily cleaning, we recommend using a damp cloth, warm water, and, if necessary, a pH-neutral detergent, a slightly alkaline or a slightly acidic detergent. Detergents specifically designed for natural stone maintenance should be used. Abrasive, highly acidic, or bleach-containing detergents are not recommended.
Stain Prevention and Removal
Prevent stains on the worktop. Keep corrosives and chemicals away from the work surface. We want to emphasise that honed and leather surfaces can be easily scratched with metal objects.
To prevent dirt from drying or absorbing into the stone, we recommend removing stains as soon as possible with a paper towel, water, and washing liquid. We recommend using special natural stone scouring products for more stubborn stains.
Keeping Heat and Scratches
Although granite is relatively scratch-resistant, we still recommend using cutting boards. Although granite is highly heat resistant, we still recommend that you use heat shields.
Long-Term Upkeep
All worktops have been infused with an impregnating agent to prevent liquids from absorbing into the stone and thus ensuring longevity. We recommend that the granite be re-treated with an impregnating agent specifically designed for the purposes of natural stone maintenance every one or two years, depending on the intensity of use and the type of granite.
